It is the current public roster path for people in Troup County Jail custody, including arrests from Sheriff James Woodruff's office, LaGrange Police Department, Hogansville Police Department, West Point Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, probation or parole agencies, and some outside holds. The sheriff jail page still points users toward jail lookup resources, but the old WebJail hostname was not usable during research and should not be relied on as the main inmate-record channel.
The portal is useful but not complete for every records question. Its public configuration hides mugshots and date of birth while allowing charge information to appear. A record can contain bond fields, but a visible amount does not always mean release is available, because a probation hold, parole hold, warrant, no-bond order, or United States Marshals Service hold can override one charge's bond setting. Sentenced state prisoners belong in the Georgia Department of Corrections locator, and federal or immigration cases require separate BOP or ICE tools.
Use the Troup County Inmate Roster
The roster works best when the search starts broad and then narrows. A last name is often enough to find a current booking, while an ID or full name can reduce false matches. Date filters help with recent booking browsing, but the research did not locate an official release-retention policy, so a date-range label should not be read as a promise that every released person stays listed for that period.

GDC's locator is for sentenced Georgia custody and is the correct search for Charles D. Hudson Transitional Center. Federal and immigration systems are separate even when a Troup County jail record lists USMS or another hold agency.

Troup County Booking Process
Booking starts after an arrest or warrant service by Troup County Sheriff's Office, LaGrange Police Department, Hogansville Police Department, West Point Police Department, Georgia State Patrol, or another listed agency. The sheriff's jail page says the jail houses inmates awaiting State Court or Superior Court and houses people for all three municipalities. Intake can include paperwork review, identity processing, fingerprinting, medical screening, property and funds accounting, classification, and cell assignment.
First appearance is the early court checkpoint. Troup County Magistrate Court states that first appearance hearings occur within 48 to 72 hours of arrest and are held Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings by video conference for jailed defendants. If bail is warranted, Magistrate Court sets bail and may add special conditions. A later committal or preliminary hearing can address probable cause and bond again.
Troup County Jail Visitation Rules
The sheriff jail page says visitation is by live video through Securus Technologies. All visitors must be preapproved for each inmate. Same-day and walk-in visits are not accepted, and telephone appointments are not accepted. Visits must be arranged in person or at SecurusTech.net.

Troup County Records Request Path
Historical booking records, arrest reports, jail records, or records not visible in the portal should be requested through the county's open-records channel when the sheriff or jail cannot answer by phone. The Troup County open records page designates the county open-records process and points requesters to the JustFOIA portal. The county says it will notify requesters within three business days whether responsive records exist and whether those records are releasable.
Costs can include search, retrieval, copying, redaction, and supervised inspection. The county's local explanation says the first 15 minutes are free. If the record needed is a court file, certified copy, or final case disposition, the Clerk of Superior and State Courts is the better custodian than the general county records portal.
